Sunday Morning Worship (year-round)
ONLINE ONLY - see online services
We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.
If mission and outreach are at the heart of our life, then worship is the heartbeat of our life together. Here at First United Methodist you will find a worship experience that is both traditional in format and relevant in content. We are an open, welcoming congregation eager to share and celebrate the joys of our faith with others.
Sunday School 10:15 a.m. (every Sunday)
NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
Children are dismissed from the church service and taken to
the Library for a short lesson, songs, and an activity such as acting out a Bible story or doing a simple craft. The church service and Sunday school will finish at the same time and will meet for Fellowship time.
Blessing of the Animals
Each year, on the first Sunday of October, we gather outside on the front lawn of the church to celebrate our "Blessing of the Animals" service which is open to anyone in the community. We begin the service at 1:00 pm and simply ask that you bring your pet-companion on a leash or in a carrier. All pets are welcome. We also include a time of remembrance for our beloved pets who are no long with us in this life but live on in our hearts and memories This "special event" for pet-owners is always a meaningful time of honoring these special creatures who bring us such joy and pleasure.
Celebrations and Support
Baptisms, in the United Methodist tradition are conducted within the context of a regular, Sunday morning worship service. We would be pleased to discuss this opportunity with you whether you are a member of the congregation or simply wanting to take this first step in the faith journey of your infant/child and family. Please contact the church office for details.
Planning your special day can be quite a challenge! First United Methodist Church offers a beautiful setting for your ceremony, and we’re happy to speak with you about the possibility of holding your wedding here.
